How to Play

‘ẹ̀’ means ‘her/his’ in Yoruba.
Top tip #1: ‘ẹ̀’ is different from ‘ẹ’ in Yoruba which means ‘your’ because it has a downwards arrow on top of it.
Top tip #2: ‘ẹ̀’ and ‘ẹ’ sound very similar, however, you will know whether ‘your’ or ‘her/his’ is the intended translation from context.
‘Màmá ẹ̀ máa lọ sí ilé-oúnjẹ lònìí’ means ‘his/her mother will go to the restaurant today’ in Yoruba.
NB: ‘ẹ̀’ is different from ‘ẹ’ in Yoruba which means ‘your’ because it has a downwards arrow on top of it.
‘ẹ̀gbón ẹ̀ máa jáde lalẹ́’ means ‘his/her older sibling will go out in the evening’ in Yoruba
‘ọ̀rẹ́’ means ‘friend’ in Yoruba.
‘ọ̀rẹ́ ẹ̀ ní láti sùn nísisìnyí’ means ‘her/his friend has to sleep now’ in Yoruba.
‘Àbúrò mi ní ọ̀rẹ́ mẹ́ta’ means ‘my younger sibling has three friends’ in Yoruba.
‘wa’ means ‘our’ in Yoruba.
NB: ‘wa’ can also mean ‘us’ you will know the meaning from context.
‘Bàbá wa kò fẹ́ràn láti ṣiṣẹ́’ means ‘our father doesn’t like to work’ in Yoruba.
‘ọ̀rẹ́ wa ní láti ta iṣu’ means ‘our friend has to sell yam’ in Yoruba.
‘ọ̀rẹ́ wa kò fẹ́ràn láti fọ aṣọ’ means ‘our friend doesn’t like to wash clothes’ in Yoruba.
